The World Small Animal Veterinary Association is very excited to be holding its 49th World Congress in partnership with our esteemed Chinese member associations the Beijing Small Animal Veterinary Association and the Shanghai Small Animal Veterinary Association from the 3rd to the 5th of September of 2024 in Suzhou, China.
Asia, and China in particular, are fast growing markets for the veterinary industry. Our Asian colleagues have shot up from basic medicine to specialized clinics in only a couple of years. China alone has more than four hundred thousand veterinary practices. Because of this the import and export of veterinary products and related goods from west to east and vice versa is expanding fast, and we expect it to continue to do so.
China´s membership to the World Small Animal Veterinary Association shows that our colleagues are looking to adopt worldwide accepted standards for the care of companion animals. Collegiality and friendships that trespass borders are important parts of WSAVA membership, and as the WSAVA family gathers in beautiful Suzhou we expect many lessons to be learned inside and outside the classroom, and many friendships forged between east and west. There are no boundaries to our mission of improving health and wellbeing for companion animals worldwide.
We are looking forward to a feast that combines world class education, as is expected from any WSAVA congress, with a taste of Chinese culture and tradition. If ever you needed an excuse to visit China, or if you are in China, and ever needed an excuse to visit WSAVA, NOW is the time! That counts for individual veterinarians, but certainly also to any company with an interest in the veterinary market in Asia as a whole, and China in particular.
